Namibia: choose your regions and departure bases
An itinerary begins with three separate regions, not a list of day trips from one hotel.

Choose overnight bases before arranging local excursions: each region has different entrances and meeting points.
Start with your available nights
Sossusvlei, the Atlantic coast and Etosha serve different purposes. Before choosing activities, draw the travel legs between your overnight bases. Count arrival and departure days honestly: a late flight arrival is not a full sightseeing day. A local tour ticket does not provide transport across the country.
Sesriem and the Namib
Sesriem is the gateway for the Sossusvlei area. Check whether your accommodation is inside or outside the park, and the actual gate arrangements. Namib Desert Lodge is north of Sesriem; staying there does not mean sleeping beside Deadvlei. Our three-day Sossusvlei package starts in Windhoek and includes two lodge nights: read the selected lodge and transfer details before booking separate accommodation.
Swakopmund and Walvis Bay
Choose a coastal base around the actual meeting point. The Sandwich Harbour and Pelican Point products on this site meet in Walvis Bay. Swakopmund is a separate town: confirm transport, especially for an early start or a cruise arrival. Sandwich Harbour beach access depends on tides; an advertised dune route should not become an improvised rental-car outing.
Etosha: choose the correct gate
Etosha accommodation and pickup coverage depend on the entrance. Mushara Lodge serves the eastern side near Von Lindequist Gate; it is not the same base as Anderson Gate in the south. Confirm your chosen safari option and supplier’s pickup area. Park fees, meals and overnight accommodation are separate unless the exact offer includes them. Sightings cannot be promised.
Turn the plan into bookings
Reserve each activity only after checking location, duration, pickup, inclusions and return arrangements. Allow an appropriate travel day between regions instead of deriving journey times from kilometres. For self-drive, confirm the actual road, rental terms, vehicle and insurance conditions. Use official park and airport information for dated arrangements.
